Speed Training with the Puck Passer Pro

Speed, with and without the puck, is one of the most important skills a player can have in hockey.  The ability to move the puck quickly to pass to a teammate, take a shot, or stickhandle to beat an opponent, is often the biggest factor in success and getting to the next level.  The Puck Passer Pro can help you develop speed in all different aspects of your game.

To work on getting the shot off quickly, the Puck Passer Pro can help players work on one-timers and shooting off the stickhandle.  The combinations of the adjustable intervals and the warning light are great features to use to put the pressure on and work on keeping your head up.  For instance, if the interval is set to 6 seconds, the player can stickhandle in different patterns, fake shots, and practice dekes with his/her head up.  When the 2 second warning light begins to flash, the player knows it is time to get the shot off before the next puck is passed.  Exercises like the one described here are great ways to work on these skills alone.

Similar to the exercise described above, if the interval is set to 12 seconds for example, the stick handling work can be substituted with speed or agility training.  Incorporating exercises that are not typically done with a hockey stick in hand create an exciting new form of hockey training. A few examples of these types of exercises can be seen in our Training Video.

The Puck Passer Pro is a great tool for professional teams, colleges, prep schools, junior teams, training centers, and even individuals at home to use to work on speed training.
